Slow, mindful, gentle Yoga flow and Qigong – suitable for all ages and abilities. Feel energised and vital, calm and relaxed…
Classes begin with a short period of rest, connecting with our breath, body, awareness and intention. Moving like water, we link flowing movement with breath, we ground ourselves fully into our practice.
Nothing in the world is as soft and yielding as water. Yet for dissolving the hard and the inflexible, nothing can surpass it. The soft overcomes the hard; the gentle overcomes the rigid. Lao Tsu
All classes must be booked with me in advance. If you cannot attend, then please give 48hrs notice as I may be able to fill your place.
We learn subtle ways to move the body, soothe the breath and calm the mind. We begin to understand that Yoga is not only a physical activity, but a transformative process that allows us to also look within, accepting how we are.
This slower practice will develop our awareness of our internal body states, noticing how we feel – developing our “felt sense”, inviting us to befriend our bodies and move in a kind and compassionate way . This approach to Yoga is based on emerging neuroscience which tells us that through this slow, mindful approach we can change the brain and calm down the nervous system. This reduces stress, which left unchecked can play havoc with our health. This gentle but powerful approach to Yoga avoids repetitive strain and injury. We build greater nervous system “resiliance” so we are more able to cope with the inevitable ups and downs of life.
Practicing asanas (poses) we build strength, flexibility and stamina in our bodies. Always moving gently within our limits. Being okay with ourselves just as we are. Movement will be modified to meet where you are with your body. We close with a relaxing Yoga Nidra so you may leave calm and refreshed!
I like to include some Qigong in my classes. An ancient Taoist practice, Qigong is revered as a way to harness our life force energy, lower stress, prevent illness, boost immunity and increase longevity. The movements are a simple meditation in motion, and bring our awareness to our energy body to cultivate and curculate Qi. It also gives us insight into Traditional Chinese Medicine and the meridian system, and is a beautiful addition to a mindful Yoga practice.
Bring your mat and a blanket for a slow and mindful practice to some beautiful music!

This practice is ideal for people who have not done much Yoga or are beginners, and for more seasoned Yogis who are stressed and overworked with a need to slow down and restore energy.

Slower practices benefit your health in a different way. Slow helps us to;

- Build resiliance in our nervous system to help cope with stress through developing interoceptive awareness (noticing how we feel)

- Reduce inflammation which can lead to disease
- Reduce fatigue
- Improve circulation, flexibility, mobility and strength
- Correct movement patterns that cause discomfort or pain
- Improve sleep
Yoga and Qigong are the perfect gentle exercise regimes to keep our bodies, minds and nervous systems flexible and strong.
Everyone is unique
So work at your own pace, and rest if you need to. There will always be options to modify the simple asanas to suit where you are with your practice, or to work around an injury. Working slowly and mindfully like this allows you to feel into your body so you know what to do.
Haste and hurry can cause injuries or problems. By working well, slowly and mindfully, we can really get the most out of our yoga practice.

Yoga for You – 1:1 Would you like help to kickstart your Yoga practice?
Ayurveda is the sister science to Yoga and is from the same Vedic root. An Ayurvedic approach to Yoga allows us to see what type of practice will be appropriate for you given the time, place, season, and what you hope to achieve.
We can work together 1:1 and design a practice to get you off to a positive and healthy start, working around your current fitness and energy levels so you may feel empowered and inspired to continue. Yoga sessions in my Sunny Studio, or in your own home. Ideal if you don’t want to attend a general class. Home visits are for a minimum of 2hrs.
