I give gratitude and thanks to all of my amazing teachers over many years.

Firstly to the great staff at Newcastle College where I did my very first training in Body Massage, Aromatherapy, and Hot Stone Massage way back in 2000!
Dorothy and Gordon Bell who first introduced me to energy medicine and the Usui system of Reiki. Once you have an awareness of working with the energy body it brings a new level to the work. I did my levels 1 & 2 practitioner training with them. Reiki is with me always and gives a wonderful meditative and listening quality to my work.
I have spent time at Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monestary over the years and done some wonderful mindfulness and Yoga training. Whilst at a Yoga workshop there our wonderful teacher Hannah Casement spotted I had an issue with my shoulder, and at the end of the session offered some treatment. With my arm up over my head she began doing amazing things which totally fixed the problem – this was my intro to Thai Yoga Massage! She recommended her teacher and off I went to London to train with the very lovely Kira Balaskas.
Thai Yoga Massage really became my passion with it’s elegant and adaptable ways of working from the futon, there is nothing you can’t manage within a Thai Massage! Originally practiced by monks in temple as a sacred practice, it is always given with the intention of loving kindness and compassion, equanimity and joy – I like that.
In 2016 I wanted to do more training after a difficult time when I ruptured my Achilles tendon. I was struggling with pain in my hands from using crutches, and looking back I was struggling with life in general. I was running out of steam… Managing all of my work meant my work/life balance was way out of kilter – my injury became the catalyst for change!
I discovered a video with Sebastian Bruno – This was my introduction to ThaiVedic Yoga . I signed up for Level 1 of their course immediately! By good luck it was on the beautiful tropical island of Koh Phagnan. The course was amazing! Co founders Sebastian Bruno and Kimmana Nichols are fabulous teachers and they have developed a wonderful system of holistic healing that has much to offer in our busy modern world.
I knew I wanted to carry on training with them after quickly learning how effective the Ayurvedic approach to health is. So in November 2016 I was off to Bali to complete their month long ThaiVedic Yoga immersion where we were joined by the 3rd member of the team Babra Noh who was our Yoga instructor on the course. We were also joined by the very talented Osteopath and founder of Thai Massage Circus Arno L’Hermitte and Shy Sayar – Yoga instructor and Structural Therapist. ThaiVedic Yoga brings together the techniques of Thai Yoga Massage , Shiatsu, Traditional Chinese Medicine’s meridian system, Osteopathy, Myofascial Release and Yoga. The beauty of this system is it allows integration of all holistic therapies, and shows us when and where they will be useful.
Being a long time student of Yoga, and having greater insight into the Ayurvedic aspects of Yoga, I decided it was time to begin my teaching career. So in 2017 I was off on my travels again, back to Koh Phagnan and The Sanctuary to complete my month long Yoga Teacher Training with Swara Yoga Academy. Randall, our teacher and also a student of Ayurveda, is fascinated with the breath and how it can shift our physiology and impact our health and wellbeing, so this approach to Yoga teaching fitted perfectly within my work. I now run weekly classes and workshops in and around Wooler – bringing all the things I have learned back to my home town.
My work as a therapist and Yoga teacher is greatly influenced by the Ayurvedic Elements – the stability of Earth, the nourishing flow of Water, the movement of Wind, the transformation of Fire and the peacefulness of Ether are all reflected in the range of therapies I offer.
In my free time I will be out and about in our beautiful countryside, hiking the hills and exploring the valleys around Wooler and beyond. I have a great belief in the healing effects of spending time in nature and the elements – it’s my favourite thing!
